Capability

From a single tree in a back garden to twenty thousand across an estate.

The same standards apply whether you own one tree or a whole landscape: assess it properly, quantify the risk honestly, and recommend only what the evidence supports.

T·01

Tree risk assessment

VALID, QTRA and THREATS assessment — choosing the right method for the site, from highway corridors to private gardens. Proportionate, evidenced recommendations that stand up to scrutiny — not blanket felling lists.

T·02

Drone aerial inspection

CAA-certified drone survey bringing the camera to the crown. High-resolution inspection of upper limbs, unions and deadwood that simply cannot be seen properly from the ground — without climbing, and without closing a road.

Climbing inspection & bat scoping

Hands-on aerial inspection where close contact is the only way to be certain, including endoscope inspection of cavities for potential bat roost features.

Highway tree surveys

Roadside inspection delivered under Chapter 8 traffic management with full highways accreditation and FISA-compliant safe systems of work. Aerial inspection means less time spent in live lanes.

How we see

Every tree, a record. Every record, evidence.

Hover the markers for an illustration of what a survey record contains. Not a PDF that ages in a drawer — a mapped, photographed, quantified account of your tree stock, with every recommendation traceable to a measured assessment.

  • ASSESS Systematic inspection, from the ground and from the air
  • LOCATE Recorded positions, so every tree can be found again
  • QUANTIFY Risk assessed within the Tolerability of Risk framework
  • DELIVER Prioritised works schedule and full audit trail

Figures shown are illustrative examples, not data from a live site.

How we work

Recorded on site. Reported clearly.

Every tree is recorded digitally on site, with its position and photographs, never written up later from notes. Your report arrives sooner and stays consistent from the first tree to the last.

W·01

Every tree located and photographed

Each tree is logged with its GPS position and photographs, so you and your contractor can find it again on site.

A tree plan you can use

Trees are marked on your own site plan, or on a clear base map if you don't have one.

Recommended works are listed by priority, with site constraints noted, so your contractor can quote from it directly.

About

A surveyor who chose trees on purpose.

Mark Johnson came to arboriculture as a deliberate choice rather than an accident — asking what he genuinely wanted to spend his working life doing, and rebuilding around the answer. That same question shapes how The Tree Surveying Company works: adopt the tools that make surveys better, ignore the ones that don't, and never write a recommendation you couldn't defend in person.
